I halved the original amounts as I don´t need three dozen for the two of us. Reduced the sugar amount an used brown rice flour and gluten-free flour mix with a ratio of 1:3. No vanilla or chocolate chips in the house, but the raisins make up for that and give great flavour and the end result is still chewy deliciousness.
1/2 cup margarine
1/3 cup packed brown sugar
White sugar to make sugar total a little less than 1/2 cup
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
3/4 cups flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/8 cup boiling water
1 cup rolled oats
1/4 cup raisins

3. Dissolve baking soda in boiling water and add to mixture. Stir in rolled oats, raisins.
